Luis Gomes SAMBO is a medical doctor and a specialist in public health with more than 40 years of experience in health management at subnational, national and international levels. He is currently a Member of Parliament in Angola. Dr Sambo is the former district medical officer and Minister of Health for Angola and worked with WHO for 25 years, culminating in the post of Regional Director for Africa. He is also fellow at the Centre for System Studies of the University of Hull in the United Kingdom and Professor of Public Health at the University Nova de Lisboa. He is author or co-author of more than 50 scientific publications, including articles and book chapters.
